For me personally, Jane Goodall has always been a great inspiration. Her institute is committed to various research centers, animal and habitat protection initiatives, and education and empowerment programs around the world.

I asked myself how we, as young people in Austria, could help too.

It turns out that our contribution is already made easy through the Roots and Shoots project.

Roots & Shoots is a worldwide action program that was started more than 30 years ago by Dr. Jane Goodall. The aim is to implement a number of individual, innovative projects in one's own environment that help people, animals or the environment. With tens of thousands of members around the globe, Roots & Shoots connects people of all ages who share a common desire to contribute to a better world.

In Austria, they also offer many workshops, campaigns and events that provide endless opportunities to achieve great things together. In addition, every small donation, sponsorship or membership helps to plant trees, save animals and do a lot of good.

Finally, my suggestion for all ambitious youngsters among us, whose wish is to improve the world: the project funding MINI - GRANTS!

You just have to submit your project for people, animals or nature, and you will receive up to 300€ financial support to realize your idea. ---> https://janegoodall.at/kids-teens/mini-grants/

It has never been so easy to improve the world. What are we waiting for? Let's take the chance and implement the change we want to see in the world!

The idea behind the name Roots & Shoots is explained by Dr. Goodall as follows:

Roots spread everywhere under the ground and form a solid foundation. Plant shoots seem very delicate, but to reach light they can break through walls. Imagine that these walls are all the problems we have imposed on our planet. Hundreds of thousands of young people around the world can break through these walls and make the world a better place.

A big thank you to the team of the Jane Goodall Institute Austria for the support & the amazing opportunity!
